The incident occurred in the Maharashtra town of Virar, in the Palghar district. According to an official, the police initially recorded a case of accidental death when the two-year-old daughter was discovered dead at her home on Saturday.

Police in Maharashtra arrested a pregnant lady after she allegedly killed her two-year-old daughter in a bizarre event. After post-mortem reports revealed that the child’s death was not accidental, a FIR was filed against the suspects on Monday.

The accused claimed to the authorities that the girl died as a result of an unintentional fall. The investigation was initiated, however, after the woman’s neighbours informed police that they suspected foul play, according to the source.

The official stated that the motivation for the alleged murder is unknown at this time, but that the couple already has a daughter.

According to him, the infant died as a result of injuries, and her mother, Neha, was charged with murder after the post-mortem report was received on Monday.
