Two ladies from Uttam Nagar in west Delhi were detained in Dwarka with roughly two kilogrammes of heroin, as part of a racket transporting heroin from the national capital to Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.

Caroline Phocum (56) and Madhu (40), according to the criminal section, were travelling to Punjab in a cab with the heroin shipment when they were apprehended on July 28. Police said they’re on the lookout for the other people involved in the scheme.

For the past two years, police say the two ladies have been distributing massive quantities of heroin to several locations in Punjab, Haryana, Bareilly, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

The two women said police they met at Tihar Jail in 2013, when Phocum was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug trafficking case and Madhu was already there for a cheating case.
