India vs Sri Lanka, Ind vs SL 3rd ODI Highlights

On Friday, Sri Lanka defeated India by three wickets in the third and final one-day international, losing the series 1-2.

Rahul Chahar worried the Sri Lankan camp by taking three wickets in his penultimate stint, but Sri Lanka held on for a tense three-wicket triumph over India in the third One-Day International in Colombo on Friday. Sri Lanka regained control of their 227-run chase, with Avishka Fernando scoring his second consecutive half-century of the series and Rajapaksa scoring his first ODI fifty. Before Sakariya broke the stand and took his first wicket, they put up a 109-run partnership. Prior to it, Krishnappa Gowtham had removed Minod Bhanuka for India’s first ODI wicket. Chetan Sakariya, making his debut, took two wickets, removing Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Dhananjaya de Silva.

It’ll be interesting to see whether India sticks with Prithvi Shaw, who scored 43 and 13 to partner the skipper at the top, or opts for Devdutt Padikkal or Ruturaj Gaikwad, both excellent List A players. Shaw would love to get a big score if he gets another chance, as he failed to convert his start in the first game.

Praveen Jayawickrama and Akila Dananjaya each took three wickets as Sri Lanka bowled India out for 225 in the third ODI. Play resumed in Colombo after a 90-minute delay owing to rain and a soggy outfield, and the match was changed to a 47-overs-a-side contest.

In order to achieve a clean sweep against Sri Lanka in the third and final one-dayer here on Friday, India coach Rahul Dravid will have to choose between experimenting and sticking with the successful combination. The first game was won by India by seven wickets, but the second game was won by the visitors by three wickets thanks to Deepak Chahar’s match-winning unbeaten 69.
