Is the third wave on its way? The trajectory of India's COVID-19 case demonstrates a concerning trend.

Following a devastating second wave of coronavirus pandemic between February and May, India's daily cases have dropped dramatically in recent weeks. The recent trajectory of COVID-19 cases, on the other hand, has revealed some concerning symptoms.

According to data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the declining trend in daily COVID infections has slowed, with a minor increase in the positivity rate. This is concerning because there has been an inflow of visitors to tourist destinations who have shown little or no COVID-appropriate behavior.

The weekly positive rate in the country is currently 2.37 percent, up from 2.27 percent on July 7. The daily COVID infection rate is still declining, although it has slowed slightly due to an increase in the positive rate.

'In August, India will be attacked by the third COVID wave.' According to a research estimate, the third wave of COVID-19 could hit India in mid-August 2021, causing policymakers and civilians to be concerned.

According to SBI Research's race to the finish line report, the COVID third wave peak will occur in September 2021.

According to the SBI research, global data shows that peak COVID-19 cases during the third wave of the pandemic are nearly twice (1.7 times) those from the second wave.
