Lionel Messi became the star of Barcelona's victory by buying up two goals, while the other three goals each were born thanks to Sofian Chakla's same-side, Ronald Araujo's header, and Antoine Griezmann's penalty execution.

Barcelona successfully beat Getafe with a landslide score of 5-2 in the 2020/21 Round 32 La Liga matchs which was held at Camp Nou on Thursday.

Lionel Messi became the star of Barcelona's victory by buying up two goals, while the other three goals each were born thanks to Sofian Chakla's same-side, Ronald Araujo's header, and Antoine Griezmann's penalty execution.

Meanwhile, Getafe had scored two goals, each thanks to Clement Lenglet's suicide and Enes Unal's penalty execution.

Thanks to this result, Barcelona returned to third place in the standings with 68 points after being overtaken by Sevilla, while Getafe is still stuck in 15th place with 31 points.

Barcelona tried to appear aggressive right from the kick-off. Messi got a golden opportunity when the game has only been running for four minutes. Unfortunately, the shot was still on the crossbar.

Four minutes later, Messi finally scored a goal. Receiving Sergio Busquets' long pass, La Pulga, who escaped the offside trap, penetrated and fired a shot that David Soria failed to anticipate.

Barcelona's advantage lasted only four minutes. Getafe managed to equalize thanks to Lenglet's own goal. Angel Rodriguez cheated Marc Cucurella's cross and changed direction after hitting Lenglet.

Getafe's effort to keep the score balanced was in vain after Chakla scored an own goal in the 28th minute due to a miscommunication with Soria.

Five minutes later, Messi scored his second goal to give Barcelona a 3-1 lead. His first attempt was still hitting the goalpost, but the rebound ball successfully cheated him into a goal. This score also lasted until halftime.

Returning from the locker room, Barcelona still dominated possession. However, Ronald Koeman's troops slightly lowered the intensity of their attacks.

Entering the 68th minute, referee Jorge Figueroa Vazquez awarded Getafe a penalty. After reviewing VAR, Vazquez assumed that Araujo had stepped on Enes Unal's foot in the forbidden box.

Unal himself acted as the executioner. The Turkish bomber's penalty execution successfully tricked Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The score was 3-2.

Getafe struggled to find an equalizer for the remainder of the match. However, it was Barcelona who was able to increase the advantage through Araujo's header in the 87th minute to continue Messi's corner.

Ahead of the match, Barcelona received a penalty after Griezmann was violated by Chakla in the forbidden box. Griezmann himself successfully completed this penalty for Barca's fifth goal. A score of 5-2 was the final result of this match.
