This year Ram Navami is on Wednesday, April 21. On this day people observe fast and worship Lord Rama. On the day of Ram Navami, the birth anniversary is celebrated in all Rama temples, including Ayodhya.

The holy festival of Ram Navami is an auspicious occasion for the birth anniversary of Maryada Purushottam Prabhu Shriram. Ram ji was born in Tretayug on the Navami date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, so every year Chaitra Shukla Navami is celebrated as Ram Navami. 

This year Ram Navami is on Wednesday, April 21. On this day people observe fast and worship Lord Rama. On the day of Ram Navami, the birth anniversary is celebrated in all Rama temples, including Ayodhya. However, this time Corona has an effect, so you should avoid going to public places. Celebrate Ram Navami at home.

In Tretayuga, Lord Vishnu incarnated Rama to kill Ravana, the king of Lanka and free the earth from its tyranny. Chaitra Shukla Navami was born by Lord Rama to Maharaja Dasaratha's house in Ayodhya. His mother Kaushalya gave birth to him in the afternoon.

In this case, the auspicious occasion of Rama's birthday is in the afternoon. This year, you can celebrate the Ram Janmotsav day from 11 am 02 min to 01 pm 38 min. Chaitra Shukla Navami Tithi starts from 12:43 pm on April 20, which is till late 12:35 pm on April 21.

On the day of Navami, after bath, wear clean clothes and then take a vow. Place the idol or picture of Ram ji's childhood at the place of worship. Then offer them with the Ganges water. Now worship them with sandalwood, incense, flowers etc. Offer fruits and home-made sweet dishes to them, enjoy it.

At the conclusion of the puja, distribute the prasad to the people. Complete the fast by doing prarthana the next day after sunrise. It is best to recite Ramcharitmanas and Ramayana on the fasting day.

All wishes are fulfilled by observing Rama Navami fast and worshiping Lord Rama. All sorrows are eradicated by reciting Ram Rakshastotra.

Things to keep in mind during the fast

Do not consume meat and liquior on the eve of the fast.

Consumption of onion, garlic is prohibited.

For fast, sanctify yourself with mind, deeds and words.

It is better to worship at home than going to the temple during the corona epidemic.

Offer kheer, saffron rice or coriander to Lord Rama.

Lord Ram can also be offered Barfi, Gulab Jamun or Kalakand.
