US President Joe Biden has raised India's strategic concerns by announcing the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. There are reports of Pak-backed Taliban forces advancing from many areas of Afghanistan.

US President Joe Biden has raised India's strategic concerns by announcing the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan by September 2021. With President Biden's announcement, the manner in which information about the advancement of Pakistan-backed Taliban powers is coming from many areas of Afghanistan, further reinforces India's concern.

India, which has invested three billion dollars so far in Afghanistan, feels that the Taliban will not only damage its projects there but the instability there can give a charge to Pakistan's plans in Kashmir as well.

While India is constantly in touch with the US, Russia and other countries at the diplomatic level, there is no firm assurance from these countries about what role India will play in the Afghanistan peace process. This is the reason that Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat has also expressed concern about the changed situation of Afghanistan.
