The process of return of migrant laborers who have been afraid of the implementation of lockdown has started once again. A large number of workers are coming back by rail and road. The trains coming from Mumbai are full of migrant workers.

Amid rising cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra, many migrant laborers are anticipating a second lockdown in the state. According to the viral news on social media, in view of the lockdown, Indian Railways has planned to operate Shramik Special Trains. However, the Central Railway Zone of the Indian Railways, headquartered in Mumbai, has said that there are no plans to run labor special trains.

The Central Railway tweeted that it has come to the notice of the Railway Administration that some false information is being spread on social media that the Shramik Special trains are being run. Therefore, it is clarified that no 'such special labor trains' are being run, nor are there any plans to run them. Railways are running special trains only in summer. Please do not get seduced by rumors.

Indian Railways operated a total of 4,615 Shramikar Special trains, which took home over 63 lakh people during the coronovirus lockdown last year. Let us tell you that on 1 May last year, the Railways ran a labor special train so that thousands of stranded migrants could be sent to their homes.

Railways are running special trains and regular special trains only in summer. The railway appeals to the people not to take note of any rumors in the above relation. Only confirmed ticket holders are allowed boarding in these special trains.
