250 central force companies being deployed in five states to ensure peaceful elections

Assembly elections of five states including West Bengal are expected in April to May this year. West Bengal has a long history of electoral violence. In the last few months, both the ruling Trinamool Congress and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party have claimed that their workers were killed in the election violence.
To ensure the peaceful conduct of assembly elections, around 250 companies of CAPF have started moving to five states. At the behest of the central government, 45 companies will be deployed in Tamil Nadu, 40 in Assam, 10 in Puducherry, 125 in West Bengal and 30 in Kerala.
At least 125 companies of central security forces will arrive in West Bengal by 25 February. At the same time, 20 companies of security forces have also reached the state today. The Union Home Ministry has decided to send these soldiers to Bengal for election to ensure law and order situation during the election campaign.

Sources say that the Central Security Forces want to start a route march in various areas soon after his arrival to instill confidence among the people. According to the information received, a total of 125 companies of Central Armed Police Force including CISF, ITBP, SSB, BSF and CRPF will be sent to West Bengal.
The Union Home Ministry has requested the state government to make all arrangements including accommodation of central forces in compliance with the Corona guidelines.
