He said that, 'I felt like I played the match yesterday. The tide of emotions was rising and I was feeling mentally exhausted. I could not believe that such a big bid was made.'
On Thursday, the auction for the next season of the Indian Premier League saw a high bid for Australia's rising pace bowler Jhye Richardson. In the end, the Punjab Kings team at the hefty price of 14 crores dunned the bid and included it in their own team. He said that when he was made such a big bid, he was shocked and could not believe that the Punjab Kings had made such a huge bid on him.
Richardson, who was the highest wicket-taker in the Big Bash League this season, was watching the IPL auction during an isolation at the hotel in Christchurch for the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand. My name was called and once I felt as if no one had bid for 20 minutes.
He said, 'I felt like I played the match yesterday. The tide of emotions was rising and I was feeling mentally exhausted. I could not believe that such a big bid was made. Emotions were completely dominating. In such a situation, you forget. You don't believe
You look again (for how much you've been bought), you see a third time, a fourth time. It took a while and I am still living in that moment. I was anesthetized. I was looking at him but it seemed like I am not seeing him. I was really excited after everything happened.'
The 24-year-old Richardson has played two Tests, 13 ODIs and nine T20s since his debut in international cricket in 2017. He said, 'My goal is to play Test cricket as much as possible but I am not playing in it right now, so what is happening in front is important for me. Right now it's T20 cricket for me.
